US accessibility lawsuits in 2025

Nearly 70% were against online shops. Settlements and courts usually point to WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 AA, the standard our tests use.

Straight answers

What we promise, and what we won't do

You can count on

  • Evidence and documented fixesEvery report is dated and shows exactly what was tested.
  • Honest coverageAutomated tests find only some issues. Each report lists which WCAG criteria were tested and which were not.
  • A widget checkWe tell you if a known overlay widget is installed on your shop.

What we won't do

  • We never call a shop "compliant"No automated tool can honestly promise that.
  • We never promise you can't be suedA report is evidence of what you found and fixed, not a shield.
  • We never sell overlay widgetsWidgets don't fix your code. About 1 in 4 new US lawsuits in September 2026 named a site that had one (UsableNet).

Questions shop owners ask

Is the scan really free?

Yes. It runs automated tests on your home page and previews a product page it links to. You don't need an account or a card.

Can any software make a shop "compliant"?

No software can honestly promise that. Automated tests find only some issues. You get dated evidence of what was tested and found, and how to fix it.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Our software visits your shop the way a shopper's browser does. Nothing is added to your theme, and nothing is added to your cart.

Does it work with my shop?

It's built for Shopify and WooCommerce and works on most online shops. Password pages and "verify you are human" checks block it, so we check your shop before you pay.

I got an ADA demand letter. Can this help?

A report documents the issues on your shop and how to fix them, which you can share with your lawyer. Read what to know about demand letters. This isn't legal advice.

How is this different from an accessibility widget?

A widget adds a toolbar on top of your shop but leaves the code shoppers struggle with unchanged. We find the problems in that code and tell you how to fix them.
