Terms and disclaimer
The short version: WideDoor is software that tests websites automatically. It gives you information and evidence, not legal advice or a guarantee.
What you buy
- Each product is a report generated automatically by our software from automated tests of the pages of the website address you give us, at the time of generation. No person reviews or edits it before delivery.
- Each paid report includes one automated retest of the same pages, which you start from the link in the report email within 60 days of the report. It is generated the same way and compared with the first report.
- Some sections (summary, fix plan, alt-text check, cart and pre-checkout summary, draft accessibility statement) are written by an AI model from the automated results. They are labelled "AI-generated, review before acting" and may contain mistakes.
- Payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record.
Limits of automated testing
- Automated tests find only a portion of accessibility issues. Each report lists which WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria were tested and which were not. "No automated issues found" does not mean a page meets WCAG.
- We do not certify that any website is accessible, conforms to WCAG, or complies with the ADA, the European Accessibility Act or any other law.
- Pages behind logins or passwords, platform-hosted checkouts (such as Shopify Checkout), and content that changes after the test are not covered.
Not legal advice
Nothing on this website or in any report is legal advice, and using WideDoor does not create an attorney-client relationship. If you have received a demand letter or have legal questions, talk to a qualified attorney.
Refunds and liability
- If a paid report cannot be generated for your website (for example because of a password page or bot check we could not detect beforehand), you get a refund.
- If the AI-written sections cannot be generated, the report is delivered without them and part of the price is refunded.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a report or this website is limited to the price you paid for that report.
- Reports are provided "as is". You decide what to change on your website and remain responsible for it.
Data
We test only publicly available pages. We store the report, its raw results and your email address so we can deliver the report and your retest. We send the automated results (not your email address or payment details) to our AI provider to write the AI-generated sections.
To see how the site is used, we count page views, clicks and the steps of a scan or purchase with PostHog, hosted in the EU. This uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser; visits are counted with a hash that changes every day, not with a profile of you. We don't record your screen or what you type into forms, and the shop address is removed from page links before anything is sent. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the site doesn't load analytics at all.
Our server also records each free scan, shop check and order for our own accounts: the shop's web address, the product, the amount and whether the report was delivered. This record goes to PostHog too, never with your email address. To see which visits lead to a purchase, the checkout carries a random id of the pricing page view you bought from, which ties that page view's clicks to your order. To see which pages and channels bring customers, the links between our pages carry where your visit came from: the campaign tags of the link you followed, the domain of the website that sent you and the first page you saw. Your scan, shop check and order record them; the checkout passes them to Lemon Squeezy, which returns them with your order. Nothing is stored in your browser for this, and it is off with Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Every order also records the discount code used, if any, so partners who hand out codes can be credited. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
